Short Bio

Opera on Tap (OOT) was born in 2005 at Freddy’s Bar and Backroom in Brooklyn and incorporated in 2007 to promote opera as a viable, living and progressive art form and to support the developing artists who continue to keep the art form alive.

In 2015, the Portland chapter was formed by divas Emily Nelson and Bethany Schweitzer Goshorn joined in 2016 by Sadie Gregg. 

Opera on Tap Portland has performed in bars all around Portland such as McMenamins Kennedy School, Vie de Boheme, the Jack London, Produce Row, and the Atlantis Lounge. Our main goal is to bring opera to an audience that may never have the experience of hearing the live art form.
